NDOP Report 2013

We are not assuming we know of all the NDOP events that took place in Clark County in 2013, but here is what we do know.

City Harvest, and Pastor Bob MacGregor hosted a breakfast with c. 75 staff pastors.  There were three elected officials there: Battle Ground Mayor, Lisa Walters, Camas Mayor, Scott Higgins, and Clark County Commissioner, David Madore.  We prayed for each of them specifically.  We also prayed for one another, the ongoing work of His Church in Clark County, and thanked Bill Ritchie for his 40 years of ministry (37 at Crossroads).

The primary public meeting was held at the Plaza in front of Clark County’s Public Service building.  Jan Stahl led us in a focused time of prayer for students.  A high school student, Makenna Strachen, and Hockinson’s Superintendent, Shaundra Yoder, lead us in prayer.  Vancouver’s Mayor, Tim Leavitt read a 2013 NDOP Proclamation – Van, and Commissioner David Madore read a 2013 NDOP Proclamation – CC.

This was also the first stop on a 5 stop prayer tour of Vancouver.  At each stop we shared a story from the past to lead us to pray for the future.  About a dozen people made the tour from there to Esther Short Park, St. James Cathedral, the Marshal Community Center, and Fort Vancouver.

There was also a noon-time gathering at Journey Church in Camas.

Later in the afternoon another group gathered near the “Battle Ground” of Battle Ground.  We heard the “rest of the story” behind the “Battle that never took place.”

In the evening people gathered at four area congregations, Bethel Church – Washougal, Battle Ground Baptist, MacArther Blvd Christian, and First Evangelical, for times of prayer for our cities, county, state, and nation.

Thanks to all who prayed and made this day, a day of prayer.
