National Day of Prayer events

The leaders of our nation have asked those of us who believe in prayer to gather each first Thursday of May and pray for our national and local leaders.  In 2012 that will be May 3rd.  For many years we have gathered at the steps of Vancouver City Hall.  This year, because there is a new City Hall, we will gather at in the “plaza” on the south side of the new City Hall building at 415 West 6th Street.  When we pray, God works.
Please join us and encourage others to do the same!

There will be at least three evening events to participate in throughout the county.  All begin at 7:00PM.  Attend one closest to you and pray for our nation.

  • On the west side of Vancouver: Whipple Creek Church  – 8802 NW 9th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98665 – Pastor Bret Aljets
  • In East county: Calvary Community Church – 2717 Northeast 3rd Avenue  Camas, WA 98607 – Pastor Scott Jones
  • In North County: Battle Ground Baptist – 1110 Northwest 6th Avenue  Battle Ground, WA 98604 – Pastor Calvin Blom

Then, since it is the National DAY of Prayer, not the National GATHERING of Prayer, why not spend some extra time praying for our area and our nation on that day?  Gather as a family, with others at work, with neighbors, or get alone with God and pray.
